"Report summary and The Children's Society's response
Most of the obstacles children face today are linked to the belief among adults that the prime duty of the individual is to make the most of their own life, rather than contribute to the good of others"
The same situation is viewed in business universities, such as mine. Everyone thinks of GPA. "Good person is not a profession"- that is what my father sometimes tells me.
If to be a human is not the main purpose, than what happiness, soul, responsibility for other people can we talk about.
Such pressure from relatives, that if you don't study, you won't achieve anything, makes really depressed. What can I do?
I started to pray to God.
Many other things I want to say, but I won't...

well said!
Human beings enjoy giving gifts as well as receiving them - so why do we live in a culture that puts such an onus upon aquisition and not upon our innate altruism. After all the super rich can't feel good knowing that their riches are always at someone elses expense.
